Form Room Block is a prominent Edwardian (1907) Grade II teaching building at the fore of the campus at Haileybury College. The building is inherently beautiful, with the sash windows providing glorious daylight throughout.
We're proud to have brought to life a sensitive yet exciting refreshment of the internal details and spaces, addressing the fabric condition and internal configuration, while looking at the wider demands of the curriculum. We increased the quality and quantity of teaching space, designing ‘teaching walls’ to integrate ICT and whiteboards with integrated storage and display to avoid clutter and long term depreciation of spaces.
The external fabric required extensive stone cleaning and repairs, the roof was renewed and the sash windows were extensively refurbished. Perhaps most importantly the classrooms and corridors were restored with a contemporary twist, introducing art, historic maps and feature lighting to make sure this was a building that the staff and students could be proud of.
