Anchorage Passivhaus

This autumn, we’re delighted to open the doors to Anchorage Passivhaus once again.
Set within the Wyre Piddle Conservation Area in Worcestershire (WR10 2JB), Anchorage is a carefully crafted, innovative and prefabricated Certified Passivhaus shortlisted for four awards and featured in both Build It Magazine and the Self Builder Magazine. It is a fascinating project - and not without its design, planning and construction challenges.
The owner and we the architects will be on hand throughout the day to talk about the project and share the thinking behind the design.
How did we do it?
How did we achieve Passivhaus Certification with such an intricate building geometry?
How did we secure planning permission for a contemporary home in a traditional conservation area?
And how does the house work without an air source heat pump?
We’ll explore these questions and more, including the design decisions, construction process and lessons learned along the way.
