We’re proud to share that our latest completed project on Knossington Road in Braunston, Rutland has been officially certified as a Passivhaus Classic by the Passivhaus Institut.

Performance highlights:
Heating demand: 15 kWh/m²a
Overheating frequency: 0%
Airtightness: 0.56 ach @ 50pa
Renewable energy generation: 31 kWh/m²a (from 24 solar panels)
EPC rating: 98A
The result is a bespoke home that maintains a comfortable indoor temperature all year round — whether it’s a heatwave outside or snow on the ground.
Designed to use the sun as its primary heat source, the house requires no conventional central heating system. Instead, it delivers consistent comfort through intelligent design and exceptional fabric performance.
It’s also a genuinely healthy home, providing a pollen- and pollutant-free internal environment for its occupants.
Brought to life within the Braunston Conservation Area, the project secured planning approval at the first attempt, with no design amendments required.
The house was constructed by 2D Building Ltd using the MBC Timber Frame system, alongside high-performance Norrsken windows and an advanced combined heat pump ventilation system that integrates MVHR and hot water generation — all delivered by Total Home Environment.
If you’d like to find out more about this project, we’d love to hear from you.
